A friend of mine asked me if I thought that was healthy.
I thought about it for a bit and here's my answer:
There's a spectrum of people. On one end of the spectrum is people who only blame the world and never themselves. On the other end of the spectrum is people who only blame themselves and never the world. And then there is everyone in the middle.
I think if you are quicker to blame the world than yourself, you should suppress your anger. You are too likely to get mad at people who don't deserve it, and it might help you to empathize and introspect.
But if you are quicker to blame yourself, you should maybe nourish your anger. You are unlikely to get mad when you shouldn't, and it might help you stand up for yourself.
I intuitively blame the world more than I blame myself, so I think I should suppress my anger, but for some other people that would be unhealthy.
