Celebrating Autumn Equinox by the Magic Blue Source

What a beautiful fine sunny day to begin autumn! Follow me to a magic place. 

Here you are in Southern Germany by the spring called Blautopf, which is Germany's second largest spring. Acctually it is a Karst spring, which has only subterranean drainage with no bodies of water above ground. The Blautopf is more than 20 meters deep and connected to a fast systems of underground caves. The name of the Blautopf (Blue Pott) comes from its peculiar blue color and is the result of its physical properties. Very fine particles of limeston are densely distributed in the water. The sun has to be out to really enjoy this fenomenon. Weather and flow determine the intensity of the colour.

No wonder that Blautopf, located by the old Swabian town Blaubeuren and surrounded by beautiful lush forest always attracted people. It is an old mystic place filled with legends and Folk tales. Actually not far from this place, some 40 000 years ago, our forefathers created the oldest human sculpture on earth, musical instruments made from mammoth ivory and other amazing stuff.  But that is already another story. You only should know, this place is really worth to visit and specially in the beginning of autumn, when the trees are changing colours and everything slows a bit down, maybe preparing for a harsh and long winter.
