I am in the middle of the third season of the TV series Manifest. There are approximately 6 episodes left, but when I did some research yesterday, I suddenly discovered that the series has been canceled and that there will be no more episodes coming after season 3. And as I also read about the fact that the third season will end with a really interesting end, it feels kind of depressing. Is there a reason to finish the series, if I only will finish the season and be left behind with even more questions?
It is kind of like going for a run, knowing that you will have to stop halfway and you will not be able to finish it at all. Or as if you would go to the cinema, knowing before the movie starts that it will stop in the middle and you will not be able to find out how it will come to an end. What is the purpose of that? Would you go to see such a film? You wouldn't!
Now, that is my struggle at the moment. Why should I watch the third season of Manifest on PeacockTV if I will not ever find out how the story was supposed to come to an end? Why should I watch it if I will never find out what really happened to the passengers on flight 828? Are they dead or have they been dead all along the way? Or did something else happen to them?
I have always fear a "Lost" ending
The ending of Lost was just a depressing thing. I remember watching the final episode where we found out that they had all died in the actual accident. Isn't that just stupid? It just felt terrible. What was the purpose of it all? They were all dead all along the way! Nah...
So, I have always feared how they would make Manifest come to an end. But, to be honest, a poor end is better than no end at all. And now here I am, stuck with no end at all. So, I guess I feel a bit depressed, and I have lost all my motivation to watch the remaining episodes of Manifest season 3. Of course, if you still want to stream Manifest on Netflix and PeacockTV, that is very possible... but I warn you already, you will most likely never get to see the story come to an end.
Of course, the producers really want to finish the story with either a 2-hour movie or with one final season. But, who will finance it? NBC doesn't really seem to be interested, but maybe Netflix can help out? After all, the first two seasons became really popular on Netflix after they were released on the service. Netflix has picked up several TV series earlier in history, like Designated Survivor. It is also interesting to see that NBC canceled Blindspot after four seasons, but then they decided to give it a short fifth season, after all, just to make sure that the story could come to an end. In other words, I still have hope that we will be given one more season or something like that, but until I know that for sure, I think I will skip the remaining episodes of Manifest.
What do you think? I would love to hear your thoughts on this topic!
