Good Artist Copy, Great Artist Steal

This famous quote by Picasso is a basic summary of how everything amazing you have ever seen came to be.

In the race for originality and uniqueness you have to know that no Idea is purely original, every thing you see today is a mash up of different thing

Steemit = Social Media + Blockchain

There is no such thing as a new idea. You have to stop feeling that you have nothing original to offer. Every new piece of art have always been influenced by an existing one.

Now this is very different from blatant copying or simply reproducing someone else work. There are differences between copy a work and creating a mashup or remix

A great thief does the following

Steals from One

Plagiarize

When it comes to writing content for your blog you have to know that for you to create great content you have to read great content. You also have to know that one reading session is not enough, you have to be more of a collector and steal ideas from a lot of things you come In contact with everyday

This will enable you to come up with an idea that is totally unique and valuable

Another thing you have to do is create good work and put it where people can see it. You can have the best ideas In the world and die in obscurity. You need a Platform from where you can broadcast your ideas to the world. It will also help you connect with like minded persons and also exposes you to different perspectives

Another Important thing is for you to be a good person. You have to focus on making the right connections and that is not possible if you are not good. You have to surround yourself with people you aspire to be like.

You also have to learn to ignore toxic people and not waste time responding to all their negative comments all day, they will only wear you out and ruin your day

Also do the right thing by appreciating the work of others and giving them a helping hand whenever necessary

Dear @ogochukwa,

I have a question... what is the difference between stealing from many vs stealing from one? Wouldn't it still be stealing? Maybe inspiration from many sources? Anyway, just a thought. @ironshield

What Steal from many means is that you have to study broad on something so that you can get Inspiration to birth your own.

It exposes you to the thought process and principles that you need to Involve in creating your Idea.

@ogochukwu

If you steal from many, you go wide, you find common factors and fresh conurbations on old concepts. If you go wide enough, you will find connections between things that you would never expect to have connections (like fifteenth-century Venetian finance and modern-day game theory) and thus attain the closest we can ever get to actual originality.

No idea is original according to Nas the hip hop rapper

No idea's original, there's nothing new under the sun
It's never what you do, but how it's done
What you base your happiness around?

It is mainly how you do it.

Thanks for the added insight @greenrun

Keep steeming hard!

The definition of communication is a communication that is audiovisual or by reference. The receiver sends an understandable message to the receiver if this message is acceptable and understood. If the communication is incomprehensible, the receiver asks him to re-introduce the message well and the concept of any reactionary message. In these cases, the future simplifies his message to the future. To him, and if the future does not understand him, he asks for a written message, and this is to change the content of the message in a proper and understandable manner.

This sounds nebulous

woow good job

nice one @ogochukwu..it is almost the same as writing a book, you read from different sources to broaden your knowledge and thats why we have references at the end of some academic books.

hmmmm
the i like the sound of the steal :-)
no work is a new idea, all are derived

Thanks for reading @camzy

Eh-heh na. Everything new is old again. You are what you eat. Plants and animals and us are made of the flesh and cells of the plants and animals they consumed. The rocks and soil come from worn-down mountains and the decay of the long dead. Islands used to be at the bottom of the sea. Deserts used to be oceans. Crude oil comes from dinosaur corpses. Even the moon itself used to be a chunk of the Earth.

Na so e be.

picasso, leading artist in the cubist movement.

The idea of stealing and copying is one that confuses many. Its more of a, lets say, remixing kind of deal, like you rightly said in your post.

In the music scene for example, do you know that most hiphop songs you listen to are created by sampling slices of other songs?

This is another wonderful article brother.
