Why I am walking to London from Manchester to protest.steemCreated with Sketch.

Britain holds a globally unique position to begin unraveling and fixing the domestic and global issues our current society faces. We hold within our jurisdiction and borders a number of the key stakeholders and participants in upholding an old world order that is no longer fit for purpose.

It is not enough to protest the current state of affairs in the current fashion, the time is too short and the complexity too large for one group of individuals to solve. It requires a phase change in our understanding of collective organisation and of what a moral society should look like.

As a caveat to that, this MUST be non-violent by definition and it will take unprecedented empathy and love in the face of inhuman and criminal activity to establish a sustainable and democratic national order (as a model for the world. Global thought leadership required of us again.)

So this is a non exhaustive list of key issue’s in no particular order:

1 - Voter suppression, Gerrymandering, Ignorance and undermining of the democratic process as well as lobbying and corporate capture of officials in power. Access to democratic tools and free speech are rights and values of modern British society and must be upheld.

Liquid Democracy, whereby individuals can self organise and transfer votes on the fly to trusted third parties, could be a potential solution which poses to produce accurate actionable data to a governance system built on an upgrade of the archaic and corrupt one that stands before it. Be aware that democracy works against human nature to help our own precisely because it is designed to serve the many.

2 - Social injustice, the deconstruction of the welfare state and the egregious inequality worldwide. This is propped up by many legislative constructs (e.g austerity & central bank debt) that ensures wealth flows from the bottom upwards that powers the current paradigm. You may know another one of these as the “sharing economy” or perhaps more pertinently the “exploitation economy”. This is one whereby large multinational corporations are able to provide high quality free software services at relatively minimal operational overhead in exchange for user assets. As an example, one can see this clearly with AirBnB, Uber, Amazon, Google, and most free service software companies whereby user data and assets are used to build a rent based economy of the back of these assets; not only at your own expense but also for rates that cannot be easily regulated in the country of operation.

This can be remedied by utilising blockchain services that silo personal data with the individual or a trusted cloud provider that remunerates users for the privilege as a data tax.

3 - Paedophiles in Power, Hidden Cults of Influence and the lack of justice for those abused. I haven’t forgotten about this inquiry, I feel like most haven’t. However due to the scope and scale of the inquiry it had been steam-rolled from the start. Many powerful people have a stake in making sure that went away and that justice was never served.

This is a tricky one to tackle, people can be quite slippery when they have power to wield over judicial processes and informative dissemination of the facts, but it is a necessity that a judicial process is enacted and completed with sufficient funding and space to operate at the scale of these individuals influence, be it national, continental or global. Here’s looking at you Rupert.

4 - The daily ignorance of technological unemployment and it’s affect on society, the increase in ‘busy work’ and bullshit jobs which is a waste of intellectual capital in a time where globally Britain has to pull its weight most. Lets face it, robots have come and they’ve taken our jobs; I don’t see that as a bad thing as they’re nearly always more efficient and have a low cost to operate. However, due to a failure of governance to regulate and get on top of the pace of development, the savings from these robot implementations have gone upwards to shareholders and corporations whilst failing to redress the societal implications of unemployment as a result.

This can easily be fixed with a Universal Basic Income calculated as the amount to sufficiently cater for the basic needs of individuals and a high top rate of tax on a exponential scale; a potential low friction implementation of which is available HERE (with the added bonus that the UBI grows alongside resources that are available to the system. Putting a positive pressure on expansion into space for asteroid mining)

5 - The daily ignorance of the UK as the 2nd largest arms dealer in the world, a half century long foreign politics agenda that has broken down entire regions of the world creating ungoverned spaces which serve as a hotbed for extremist ideologies and unregulated ground for weapons testing. Exploration and expansion is rooted in the principle of creation. War and occupation is rooted in the opposite; destruction. The UK has fundamentally lost its way. As a nation of pioneering and global thought leading ideology, we brought the world trade, the railway, the industrial revolution, atomic physics, the computer, Concord and many more world changing inventions and discoveries which I implore you to research and shout about. Now the world is occupied, most borders are fixed and the nation states occupy most if not all land available.

Now, as a planet in Space, we are faced with another far grander frontier, Space itself has resources and land for everyone to work towards and build on together that poses far more sophisticated and intellectually necessary technological problems that oppressing those who do not have the means to defend themselves. Our current foreign policy is tantamount to bullying for the sake of geopolitical advantage, and it has to stop.

6 - The refusal of government to accept culpability for the creation of the existential threats we face, in terms of climate and of social cohesion. Regarding Climate, look to BP and large oil and gas firms to see one root of the problems we see in governance. Look to the money flowing into lobbying for looser regulation on fracking and carbon emissions and watered down proposals for environmental remediation, big 6 energy reform and renewable energy implementation.

Regarding social cohesion, the long term degradation and de-funding of community centres, social services (including the Fire Service, Police force and NHS) and the construction of a global surveillance network named the 5 Eye’s network, created under the pretext of terrorism but with the effect of chilling dissent and social discussion on critical national security and policy directives. The allowance of high net worth individuals to gain special access to the UK’s property markets as investors which has caused the housing bubble and crisis as a result. There are more empty houses in the UK that homeless family units.

7 - Daily Ignorance of the pseudo-state sat in the centre of London, the ‘City of London’ and it’s global influence as a centre of money laundering to/through the British crown colonies/dependencies and enabling of corruption. It operates under its own separate governance system and wields unnecessary power over Westminster by means of lobbying and special access.

This pseudo-state/special economic zone is an artifact of the UK’s deep history and needs to be brought under transparent democratic civilian oversight as it stands as this nation’s and the world’s greatest threat, second only to Brexit and the greatest legislative and constitutional change in Britain’s history. It is necessary that we solve or see movement on all the issues outlined above before we attempt this. We need to get our house in order before even attempting to negotiate a settlement with the EU.
