I have been advising Embleema Health in preparing the launch of their Blockchain for Medical Records.
Embleema is aiming at creating a HIPAA compliant Blockchain network to enable Patients, Doctors, Care Centers, Pharmaceuticals companies, to share medical data in a secure way.
The Patients and Doctors will have access to a DApp called PatientTruth, to interact with the medical data in a simple way.
The first step and probably most challenging one if for patients to retrieve their medical record from their current care centers in .xml formats. Those documents are called CCDs and the patients are entitled by law to have access to them.
Once loaded into the system, Patients will become sole owner of their medical data and granted access via their Embleema/Ethereum private key.
An incentive model is provided by the EBL token, so that Patient receive tokens when they upload a CCD. They will also in the future be able to give access their anonymized data for medical study against EBL compensations. This scenario can have big impact on research and provide reward for patients with rare disease.
