About Graphene Lab

@graphenelab: Graphene Lab is a partner company of Rudex and Blockchained team. The company began operating in 2017 with the goal of creating innovative products for the industry. Our main product is “Karma”, BitShares fork for p2p lending. Following the development of this product, we understood that our passion lies in strengthening and evolving the community, which is why we are currently focusing our efforts on improving already existing products such as BitShares.

The idea behind the proposal

@rossul: The idea behind this proposal started about a year ago when our company began using BitShares We experienced difficulties concerning the registration process, overall usability, and many aspects of the UI. We felt that the current UI could be greatly improved to make the services Bitshares offers more usable and straightforward. After meeting with Graphene Lab to discuss the possibility of joining forces to solve this issue, we came up with a joint proposal. We believe the new design is going to greatly benefit the community and make BitShares more accessible for day to day users. We are confident the workflows can be greatly optimized, and the whole product can be much more user-friendly, intuitive, and easier to navigate.

@graphenelab: Graphene Lab will be responsible for the coding and integration of the backend engine. This will include the crafting of new features, workflow, UX, and interactions which will be discussed, designed, and approved beforehand.

All parties will work within their area of expertise. Rossul is a design agency that may be equipped to write backend code, which is why we have chosen to partner with Graphene Lab, who are highly experienced and capable to handle the developmental side of this project.

Open source

The new UI will be coded from scratch and open sourced. This allows the community to easily contribute, modify, and develop new features leveraging the established UI logic that is familiar to the users.

Milestones

Please visit our proposal website for more details about the project milestones.

We are confident that we can reach milestones in a timely fashion with a high level of precision. Rossul has had extensive experience designing products and apps for the financial industry and our estimations are usually accurate.
Rossul has designed interfaces for GP Morgan, apps for numerous banks such as PNC Bank of America, Scotiabank, Libro Credit Union, and Toronto Stock Exchange to name just a few. Because of this experience, we feel comfortable with a project of this size and we feel we have a lot to contribute to BitShares community and would be happy to do so.

@officialfuzzy: Is that possible to do that in 3-4 month? Are you comfortable with that?
@rossul: Sure. We’ve designed many products and apps for the financial industry and our estimations are usually accurate.
We designed interfaces for GP Morgan, last week we started negotiations with Huobi Exchange, we designed apps for numerous banks such asPNC bank of America, Scotiabank, Libro Credit Union, Toronto Stock Exchange to name just a few. So we feel pretty comfortable with this project and have a lot to contribute to BitShares community and would be happy to do so.

New functionality

We have entertained the idea of implementing stealth transactions. The functionality has existed within the core engine since 2016 but there have been no attempts made to implement it in the official application. We feel confident the community will benefit from the utilization of this feature.

We are highly familiar with the system, how it works, and how to implement it. We hope to use all of this experience and skill towards improving Blockchain’s current system.

We have discussed several improvements for the API nodes that would allow for increased usability for block explorer and wallet developers. Our developers are in contact with BitShares core team and have expressed our interest in implementing new features that would improve the overall platform functionality. Developers who have worked on “Karma”, a project that involves the use of Bithshare’s services, have identified some areas of Bitshare’s core that hold potential for improvement. Our team is highly capable and willing to fix the issues we have found.

Some other new features being discussed are multiple recipients for transfer and improvements to API nodes to maximize efficiency for block explorer and wallet developers. Our developers are in contact with BitShares core team and present in developers’ chats.

In order for our proposal to be accepted, we need to collect at least 265 million votes. As of today, we have about 127.5 million votes. Supporting our initiative, you vote for the new BitShares that is easy to use, intuitive, fast and takes advantage of the latest technologies.
