Two highly educated brothers allegedly exploited a vulnerability in the Ethereum blockchain to steal $25 million in cryptocurrency within seconds.
The DOJ believes their scheme was so sophisticated it could undermine trust in blockchain technology.
The brothers were arrested and face up to 20 years in prison each, with investigators recovering evidence of their planning and attempts to hide the stolen funds.
