To trade cryptocurrency stolen from Slovakian exchange Eterbase, the Lazarus hacker created a Binance account in just nine minutes using only an encrypted email address as ID.

According to blockchain data compiled by Reuters, a review of Hydra user forums, and interviews with illicit drug users and researchers, Binance has become the primary payment provider for the giant darknet marketplace Hydra.

Meanwhile, according to the 2020 report, Binance received $770 million in criminal funds in 2019 alone, more than any other crypto exchange, according to Chainalysis, a crypto researcher hired by a US government agency to track illegal flows.
