The Rise of the Ico was apparent when proponents of blockchain tech pursued having the 'Power of Data' back into the user's hands. It is in the accessibility, reliability, and eventual affordability of cryptocurrency that will create a vast array of markets for a multitude of objects and skill sets.
The Taskrabbits and freelance subreddits will soon be pioneers of a much greater mission to set freelancers apart from any other white collar working class individual. The freedom to earn 'on-chain' all the while pursuing a greater good almost sounds too good to be true... but then again so has the idea of the blockchain and crypto altogether.
When it comes to the worth of user data and their ability to sell themselves [as freelancers], transparency becomes the most enticing quality as it removes the ability for centralized monopolies to siphon data and collude against the individual. Much of the survey and HIT (Human Intelligence Task[s]) freelancing available in the modern era of the working class seems to pay minimum wage at the max, and most providers put up a tariff which completely works against the user. In a decentralized blockchain, the freelancer can be assured that all earnings will be solely theirs, and the ecosystem economy that a well built blockchain flows off of should provide enough for every user to flourish.
An example of a beautifully flourished social media ecosystem is this platform (Steemit.com), every user has a chance to have their post trending and the balance of voting power and community makes a trustworthy and long lasting place in which users feel safe and trust the 'whales' controlling the wave flow.
A system of witnesses, whales, and trustworthy crypto elites and HODLers can create a vast cryptosphere in which freelancers can provide their services and never have to worry about work or earning again.
A completely commissonless platform will bring in an influx of users who will inevitabally have to deal with the higher transaction costs that the influx of user volume will naturally bring. Until the incorporation of ETH and EOS platforms, transactions per second will always be limited to constraints of somewhat archaic technology (in terms of the graphene blockchain) but freelancers should still ride the wave of the crypto revolution!
The blockchain and creation of crypto-currency (as just that, a currency) was built with the sole intention of pleasing humanity and giving everyone on Earth a chance at a better life. The peer to peer node system that a blockchain requires is only one piece of the decentralized future that will invariably come. Freelancers are students, content creators (like myself), and even children in second and third world locations trying to earn weekly income to survive and eventually flourish... Satoshi had the everyman in mind when he created the tech; cryptocurrency and decentralised applications will undoubtedly revolutionize the freelance economy.
