Recently i came across with this piece of technology called Hashgraph. These guys claim making the new step in distributed ledger technology, no more no less. It is production ready and works with a set of customers having beated IBM's Hyperledger system.

Technologies are developing where there is no need for proof-of-work I.E no need to burn through so much electricity to validate transactions.
