As, if I remember correctly, Charles Stross noted, the trick in futurology is to realize that things ... stay. 10 yrs from now something like 90% what's now will stay. 90 yrs into the future perhaps 10% of what's now will be left. Same - 20 years ago many things which are now were already there ...
