What Next for Aergo?

It is just recently that Blocko launched the Aergo project. The project has not been completely deployed, but parts of the system are already running. Since its launching earlier this year, April 2018, Blocko has developed deployment strategies for various components to ensure that the project is finalized successfully. The proposed timeline for component release aims at sustainably managing the development of the protocol including the components themselves. Aergo’s future significantly relies on the input invested at this development stage. With numerous facilitating problems for the protocol's development, Aergo's success will greatly rely on how effective its components help solve the existing problems in the blockchain.

The Timeline
After its launch in April 2018, the project’s initial component release was the Alpha version of Aergo whose main feature was the Structured Query Language (SQL) compatibility of the platform through the AERGOSQL. This release was in the second quarter of the year (Q2 2018). The release provided established the basis for the project’s development, allowing users to access unique features of AERGOSQL, the smart contracts engine, to develop new components of the protocol.

The next milestone of the Aergo Project, which was conducted in Q3 2018, is the release of the Beta Version of the system. This version provides additional features to the Alpha version and allows use by the developers' community to advance the operations of the system. In Q4 2018, the management seeks to deploy test-nets to the platform to assist identify flaws within the systems. Based on the results of these testnets, necessary corrections are made to the system before the main-net is launched in Q1 2019. This procedure will assist inhibit any dysfunctionality system that may not have been foreseen. After this public network is launched, it will be closely monitored before the remaining Aergo Hub and Aergo Marketplace are launched in Q3 2019.

Token Sale
Aergo Protocol project is a not-for-profit project and in its token generation event (TGE), seeks to generate up to 500,000,000 tokens. During a recent private token sale, the project sold over 144,000,000 tokens while raising in excess of $28,832,654. The project has not yet commented on the future possibility of an initial coin offering (ICO) for the public. But just in case the management decides to introduce a public Aergo token sale, the public will be informed through its various communication channels.

Public Access
As discussed in the timeline, the milestones that have currently been reached do not support public access. The public may be able to access the project’s platform after the rolling out of the mainnet scheduled for Q1 2019. The public will afterward access all tools available within the systems to complete the blockchain operations.

Other Future Expectations
Another future development on Aergo, which also stands out as a unique feature of the project is the smart contract engine AERGOSQL. This component is under development since the initial milestone of the release of Aergo Alpha version. The engine provides simple functionalities for users through SQL to enhance usability and innovation. What you may also expect in the future is the bridging of the Aergo Systems with other blockchain networks to improve interoperability through flexible systems.

Since Aergo’s launching to this time, significant input has been deployed but there’s still quite some work to be done. Most importantly, the project has had a good kick start.
