in blockchain •  5 years ago  (edited)

Few weeks ago, I wrote about the Telos blockchain and how it was set up for the purpose of bringing blockchain technology closer to the youths and helping them achieve their dreams. Read here

This one is all about Telos4africa and the summary of the events, how far the community has come. Before that, I'll again give a brief overview of what Telos is all about.

The Telos Foundation is an independent, decentralised non-profit organisation which promotes the blockchain network of the future which is Telos. It was launched a year ago with tha aim of selling Telos to the general public through the social media, public relations, live events and education. Telos Foundation is also focused on community in achieving its goal.

Telos is a networked ecosystem enabling visionary leaders and communities to work together to build a new global economy.

Telos4africa is a branch of Telos geared towards bringing young Africans together in blockchain technology and helping them achieve their goals. The Telos4africa initiative is carried out by the Telos4africa community members to promote Telos blockchain in West Africa and be rewarded with Tlos coin. This initiative could be dApp developments, music, short lms, creative ideas and content creation like articles, social media campaigns, graphic designs, meetups and so on.

Telos4africa has been involved in a lot of activities since it's adaptation.

The first one is the Telos4africa Meetup which took place on the 14th day of December, 2019 in Lagos. A lot of things were planned and delivered on that day. The attendees were made to understand what telos is about and how to be a part of it. The success outlook on the blockchain technology with emphasis on Africa was discussed by a panel of four. A presentation session also took place mad questions were asked and answered. Gifts were also give to the lucky winners.

The second event was charity. This event took place on the 21st day of December at the Covenant Children's Home, General Gas Estate, Ibadan Oyo State. There's always love in sharing and Telos4africa set out to put smiles on the faces of these little humans. And of course, it succeeded in making their Christmas special. The children were give a health talk on oral hygiene and hand wash. There were games and lots of gifts for them.

A team song featuring Destiny Marshall was also released. Marshall isn't just a great team leader, he also knows his way around the microphone and this song is proof of that. The song was listed on zeptagram. Watch on YouTube

Besides these major events, there're also smaller ones like weekly activities on the social media channels. Telos4africa also support other blockchains by being a part of it, supporting and selling the ideas to them. What are you waiting for? You're really missing out if you're yet to participate.
