Weekly Progress Update : initial coverage
Preparation
During this phase, the team focused on the systematic research and preparation for
CYBEX’s development. The product designers and developers conducted extensive research on relevant blockchain technologies and communicated closely with ecosystem partners. After extensive discussions, the basic architecture of CYBEX ecosystem has been defined. We launched CYBEX’s alpha version over the test net and invited a group of external partners and developers to help test and refine the project.
Alpha Test Phase 1
We collected a great deal of feedback from our enthusiastic community testers during our invite-only phase 1 of the alpha test which ran throughout the month of October, 2017. Thank you all for supporting CYBEX!
Over 200 members from the community participated in this test, with over 300 valid test accounts and more than 240,000 CYB tokens distributed for test in total. The test produced over 60 pieces of solid feedback, which ranged from UI adjustments, functional upgrades, and
operation and business development ideas.
Based on the feedback, we are in the process of making the following adjustments to CYBEX,
Fixed bugs associated with the UI’s layout
Adjusted the error notification stack, removing lower-layer errors that do not concern the user
Adjusted user profile and transaction history UI
Adjusted the UI’s switching logic between access points to remove unnecessary wait times
Adjusted the asset evaluation mechanism
Enable the exchange of CYB and user issued assets (UIA)
Added functionality to setup trading lockup periods to UIA
We plan to complete all above-mentioned functionality upgrades before end of November, 2017.
Next steps
Core Development
The team will begin leveraging international developer communities to accelerate the pace of development, especially for the CYBEX core,
Design and implement the scripting language to automatically synchronize fed-in prices from external exchanges to help better simulate a real trading environment during testing
Set up a trading lockup functionality for UIAs to offer more sophisticated in-CYBEX ICO launches
Design and implement atomic cross-chain swap prototype, which includes heavily modifying the multi-signature accounts in CYBEX, simulating an implementation of CLTV script on Bitcoin side, and orderbook embedded in the CYBEX client to facilitate trading via atomic swaps
Develop external centralized transaction gateways
A network of witness nodes with complete business logic will be deployed and tested during
These development tasks are planned to be completed by the end of 2017, and CYBEX will officially launch on December 8, 2017.
Application and Ecosystem Development
After all key core development has been completed, the team will focus on the application and ecosystem layers,
Develop the mobile CYBEX app
Integrate multi-currency / multi-signature functionalities into the client wallet
In-wallet Atomic swap with other digital currencies
These tasks are expected to be completed by April, 2018.
Hardware Development
To further enhance the reliability and security of CYBEX, the team will focus upon not just the software but also the hardware wallet (with multi-signature) functionalities, including features such as fingerprint sensors.
Going forward, the CYBEX team will publish its development progress periodically, and we look forward to hearing from you!
