The executive secretary of the National Energy Commission of Chile, Andrés Romero has reported that the nation's regulatory unit will begin utilizing blockchain technology in March. This is the first for a public unit in the South American nation.

CNE will utilize the Open Energy platform (Energía Abierta) keeping in mind the end goal to "confirm the quality and sureness of the open information of the national energy sector", indicated by PV Magazine. Moreover, in doing such, CNE will formally turn into Chile's first public unit to use the inborn services of blockchain technology. The blockchain technology will help CNE in confirming "regular market prices, marginal costs, fuel costs and the compliance with sustainable energy law."

Blockchain technology will protect CNE's energy information available on the platform since the blockchain makes it almost impossible to modify data, Romero asserted.

The executive secretary further explained that, the National Energy Commission has chosen to join this inventive technology and we have chosen to utilize blockchain as a digital attorney, which will enable us to guarantee that the data we give in the open information portal has not been modified or adjusted but, left a permanent record of its being.

Romero also expressed that, public data is an essential contribution to the decision making of investments and energy activities. A significant number of our clients utilize this data to choose among technical, economic and labor perspectives. That is the reason why, in using blockchain technology, we will elevate the levels of confidence of our partners, investors and the overall population that expands the information conveyed at www.energiaabieta.cl. However, it is additionally important that Chile accommodates Latin America's biggest solar market.

The total installed solar PV power of Chile has stretched around 1.829 GW toward the finish of last year, however, the nation's total accrued power has just exceeded 2 GW, on account of a couple of recently connected huge solar plants PV magazine indicated.

Looking at blockchain technology being utilized to help facilitate the control of sustainable energy is an indication of the technology's positive potential in the energy industry. Nevertheless, they hope to see more public units around the globe embrace blockchain platforms as the year advances.
