On Thursday, August 23rd, DCC hosted the launch of the China Blockchain Application Center (CBAC) in the Bay Room in NYC’s iconic financial district — the first-ever dedicated event space from Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group with panoramic views of the city.
The goal of the Center is to promote communication between China’s blockchain industry and its global counterparts, and contribute to the vigorous development of the blockchain industry. as demonstrated here by Dr. Wei Wang, founder and advisor of CBAC, during his welcome address.
The ceremony kicked off with welcome addresses from Kevin Guo, Chairman of CBAC and Stewie Zhu our founder and CEO, thanking guests for attending and discussing the purpose of this celebration and going over the agenda for the evening.
Dr. Neng Wang, Professor of Columbia University, delivered a presentation on how to value digital assets and the dynamics behind token adoption.
Following the presentation, our moderator, Founder of OX3 TV Production, Bianca Chen, shared a preview of her “Nextblock” documentary teaser on the crypto/blockchain phenomenon that has changed the world over.
For the first panel portion, Stewie Zhu was joined by Kevin Guo from CBAC, some of our co-hosts — DATA and CertiK as well as special guest, Grace Li from Fortuna, a specialized blockchain platform for derivatives to discuss how blockchain is transforming the traditional world.
Our next panel focused on Crypto Trading Landscape in Asia and U.S. Ricky Li, Co-Founder of another co-host, Altonomy, moderated the panel along with some of the most important trading authorities in the crypto world including Galaxy Digital Partner David Namdar, Genesis CEO Michael Moro, Head of Financial Markets of OKCoin USA Inc. Wiflred Daye and Nick Goodrich from trueDigital.
Henry Cao, executive director of the Center and founder of Usechain, then explained the similarities and differences, development routes and direction of supervision in the blockchain industry between China and the U.S. in his keynote address.
As for the main attraction, Chairman Kevin Guo, Stewie Zhu, Galaxy Digital Partner David Namdar, Bittrex Director of Program Management Katey Harrison and Genesis CEO Michael Moro jointly completed the unveiling ceremony and officiated the grand opening of CBAC!
Finally, for our favorite portion of the evening, guests regaled in cocktails and conversation, enjoying delicious hors d’oeuvres from Danny Meyer’s world-class kitchen.
