Steemit is another SOCIAL DECAY platform. A Black Mirror episode.

This is my second day on Steemit and I realize that this site will turn into something like the Black Mirror episode, "Nosedive" (go watch it on Netflix).
Motivating people to post and comment for "money" creates a pretentious environment.
Do you really want to post what you did? Do you really want to upvote that post or comment? Usually not!
I could go on but I will say this last thing.

Mark Zuckerberg just recently said, "Giving everyone a voice has historically been a very positive force for public discourse because it increases the diversity of ideas shared. But the past year has also shown it may fragment our shared sense of reality". Zuckerberg's own former head of user growth, Chamath Palihapitiya added FB encourages “fake, brittle popularity,” leaving users feeling empty and needing another hit, and suggested that this “vicious circle” drives people to keep sharing posts that they think will gain other people’s approval.

With the rise of the blockchain technology and an apparent paradigm shift in the way we understand how the internet can connect people, we should be re-writing (literally programming) our application to bring people together in meaningful ways. There are so many problems that can be solved just by getting the right information form the right person. And this can be so free.

Well, I digress.
For now, I did appreciate the applied blockchain technology but look forward to working with other developers and designers to shape a better future for the world.
