Walmart + Blockchain = LOVE

A patent filled by Walmart and released yesterday reveals interesting plans fo the giant retailer.

According to that patent, Walmart aims at creating autonomous delivering systems for "environment sensitive products". In other words, drones that may deliver frozen items. Or other types of products which require a "controlled environment".

The patent has very clear references to the blockchain (starting with point 17), like this one:

a delivery encryption system comprising a block chain for package tracking and authentication.

or this one, from point 22:

The smart package of claim 18, wherein the block chain associated with a product placed in the smart package dynamically adjusts to account for the cold chain status of the product as the smart package moves through a supply chain.

While this is not a cryptocurrency and it's certainly not decentralized, I do think it's a very interesting application of the blockchain technology.

heads up its spelled Walmart one l

Thanks, I stand corrected.

We are advancing daily. This is like a smart delivery system. I have a funny feeling about this though - Collision theory. Haha 😂

Yeah! But patent first.....

Between this and supposedly stepping up their online presence (beefier website, two-day free delivery), it looks like Walmart wants to take Amazon head on. What's funny for me is, I don't think of Walmart as a cutting edge innovator, so using blockchain technology for anything in their global operations is a pleasant surprise.

Amazon just bought Ring startup for a billion.

Ring basically makes video hardware and a software that allows you to talk to the person on your door with your smartphone.

One billion!

I know one who has a Ring for their doorbell, but I never saw it in action.

To my point about Walmart, Amazon is the one that seems to be always innovating. Walmart not-so-much. Things haven't rolled out so who knows if they'll get it right or what it will look like, but hey, even though I'm not really much of a fan, kudos for them for even thinking about using a blockchain for anything.

It's not just Walmart, the world loves blockchain.
All companies got to love blockchain, the value is enormous, they can track merchandise and payments. The cost savings can be huge.

Every aspect of our lives is getting smart except our lives that are becoming more complicated with passage of time.

Wow that would be great.. unfortunately we dont have any of that here in Venezuela. cheers

More and more applications are finding their way to the blockchain technology. As blockchain and cryptocurrency are related, what's good for one is great for the other.

This news is great and incredible, that the products arrive at your home in an autonomous artefecato is great, what the block chain is doing is extraordinary.
Thank you very much dear friend / @ dragosroua for sharing this information
I miss you a great day

I wonder if blockchain would have any attention if bitcoin would not have come to an existence. Blockchain is becoming mainstream only because of the success of bitcoin. Specially the recent one. This is what i feel. Others could choose to disagree.

I always wonder how you can get a patent for taking one existing part and another existing part and putt them together.
Is there a patent for using a database for storing information about patents?

Wow finally some one on to it and working so cool it will be :D

That silence is the sound of all the keyboards those accountants are no longer typing on at Walmart's corporate headquarters.

Was just waiting for this to come .....
Blockchain is from start planned to be used as a tool to eliminate all human labor .. Currency is just a Small small part of it.
Watch this short video and "read between the lines" .. It all will become clear then ...

The "WORKAHOLIC-WITNESS"
This is very interesting and informative.
Keep doing the good work! @dragosroua

This is cool idea and can definitely safe time.

Yeh the order delivery thr drone is welcome concept.. Also many companys like google, amazon r signing patents...
But
Will ppl allow drone to fly thr its route.... Imean steling packages from drone by shooting it when pass thr ppl territory.. Or birds demaging drones when it enter its territory... Or crashing of drone by high winds.. Many more.. Dont know how will they deal with it? 🤔

This is a Good Sign We Need More Companies Backing our Crypto.

Sounds like a cool idea. Interesting to see how accurately will they deliver the packages.

Haha amzing idea by walmart 😂. Its like delivery in flying drone 😂.

do not forget visit also have me. @akmaladila
and vote have me occasionally

This is such a good thing that Walmart is doing. They seem to be neck and neck with Amazon. So cool that there is healthy competition. Thanks.

When i see a great enterprenuer like walmat having interest on blockchain ,it brings a special joy to me because definitely somehow steem blockchain and i myself will benefit from it in one way or other.really ,this is awesome information worthy to be shared.

Woww it really great idea and Interesting to see this info

seems like they will do it first amazon got to do something quick hahah

Good idea but what if this happens?

Real drone versus plastic drone...... Lols

Then the "environment sensitive products" have fallen prey to the environment which needs to be registered to the blockchain with the code "gotcha".
