How blockchain and cryptocurrencies will break the gap for emerging countries

I'm really excited about how the blockchain world is moving and growing up. Each day there are new uses for it and new amazing ideas to help the world moving finally into the digitalization. Sometimes when we live in the USA, Europe or some developed countries in Asia it's easy to forget about the digital gap they have in other less developed countries.

The biggest problem in order to reach real digitalization is the percentage of people without access to a bank account.

In this table you can see the huge differences between all the countries, which until now made it the main stopper to jump to the next digital level. In the first block there are the percetage of population witout Access to a bank account, and in the second one the service infrastrature indicators.

Until now there were to ways to give a credit to this sector of the population:

• Mobile Banking (or mobile wallet): In the emerging markets there are already many startups and big banks working on it. It’s a system that allows customers of mobile financial institution to offering banking services of make deposits, withdraw, and to send or receive funds from a mobile account through a mobile device such as a mobile phone or personal digital assistant.

• Predictive Scoring: when a customers has no banking history, it's possible to analyze the activity on their social network profiles, how often they use their cell phones, and whether they frequently send text messages in order to create a financial identity, and determine their credit score, which may allow them to enter into the digital transformation through the big door.

But thanks to blockchain and cryptocurrencies the landscape it's totally different. Now everyone in the world is going to be able to have access to a "virtual bank account", where they can deposit money, make and receive transfers and offer some scoring in the case they want to access to credits (probably in the near future there will be a credit platform through blockchain). And in the case they don't have access to smartphones everything could be done with an old phone and SMS.
