MEDIA PROTOCOL – INCENTIVIZING THE INTERNET

Are you an avid lover of the internet? Do you love browsing and interacting with content on social media? Most of all, Do you get paid for browsing the internet? I mean, you subscribe your phone and internet just to browse but still get nothing from it? But it is said that “we should do what we love and earn from it“. Maybe you are one who creates content on social media, you get a lot of likes and interaction on your post but it doesn’t reflect on your account. Would you love for this to change? Okay, how would you love to earn money while browsing or creating content on the internet? I mean, you literally get paid for actually doing something you love. What if I tell you that it is actually possible?

MEDIA PROTOCOL
Media protocol is an open architecture that creates a direct economy for the exchange of content, data and incentives between content creators, publishers and consumers. It enables content creators to incentivize the consumption of their content directly, using the MEDIA token which is the protocol’s ERC20 compliance token. Consumers on the other hand are compensated for content interaction and the preference data that they generate. This instantly creates an avenue for revenue directly between content creators and content consumers.

These tokens can later be used by consumers to tip creators and publishers for their contents or be exchanged for other cryptocurrencies. To make the whole process possible, a prototype app called CryptoCatnip was created.

CryptoCatnip is a media aggregator for crypto which provides an accessible and user friendly experience where content interaction are incentivized and tracked through the blockchain. With the help of machine learning algorithms, it uses analytics based on the blockchain to make personalized recommendation and feeds each consumer the right content.

Media protocol has provided infrastructure for CryptoCatnip to create an economically viable content channel without being forced into the ecosystem of major social networks and content distribution platforms. With CryptoCatnip, consumptions are decentralized as consumers and content creators are not mandated to focus on a particular point of consumption. This way, consumers don’t have to rely on centralized distribution platforms for content; they have a better choice, more relevant, diverse and quality content around the topics they are passionate about.

By using the blockchain, Media Protocol removes the need for a middle man who takes more value than they contribute to the system, thereby, creating a completely transparent network. The blockchain prevents the system from being manipulated so any fraudulent activity has to be in the open, where it will be tackled.

MEDIA Protocol enables two-way token interactions between content promoters and consumers. The protocol also provides the opportunity for affiliate apps (generally, third-party apps and content distribution platforms) to take a share from transactions they facilitate. The reward algorithm is defined in a way that it represents the impact to the publisher/promoter of the specific interaction.
