EOS Meetup Highlights** Disrupting the Disrupters

in blockchain •  7 years ago

What an eventful day. I had the chance to attend the EOS Meetup today in Blacksburg VA. There were a lot of great takeaways and interesting facts. It was a three hour drive for me, but as I have become an EOS advocate and as I continue on my journey of learning and sharing blockchain it was well worth it. Meeting Dan Larimer and hearing him speak about the underlying blockchain technology and differences were the highlights. Here are just a number of the differences I heard that just make me wonder why in the heck does ETH suck up all of the air everywhere!???!!???
Advantages:

  1. Scalability
  2. Governance
  3. Reliability
  4. Fees
  5. Faster
  6. Design for Parallelism

EOS is disrupting the disrupters.

Thanks to the EOS Team for a a great day!

Hi Greg, nice write up. I've noticed that Dan is very good at explaining blockchain technology in a way that is easy to understand. This can be seen by simply comparing a talk by Dan and Vitalik. Vitalik attempts to explain a lot of complex theory and uses hyperthetical propositions while Dan is more down to earth in his explainations. That said and in part answer to your question:

why in the heck does ETH suck up all of the air everywhere!???!!???

Vitalik, is a very active speaker around the world fluent in a number of languages and has a prominant presence within the crypto space. He engages in alot of debates and keeps close tabs on everything from developmet to controversy. While in the forums and social media he is 'just some guy', as the 'head' of Ethereum and the foundation he is highly regarded for his expertise. Ethereum brought dapps to developers as fintec companies started emerging en mass. Ethereum GPU mining was the most profitable of altcoins and Eth grass roots took a firm grasp.

Yet, for all it's promise as a blockchain technology, Ethereum has a lot of shortcomings and for this Dan, was correct to suggest EOS would deliver on the promises of Ethereum.

EOS is an awesome project.
