Open Coffee Athens is a meetup that aims to cover Greek startups and help them get in touch with the general audience and why not some investors.
Last week's meeting was focused in tech and blockchain startups. Three companies were presented and it was interesting to see the advancement in technology and have a feel on Greek startup scene.
Think Silicon
George Sidiropoulos co-founder and CEO presented Think Silicon, a company that makes GPUs for smart IoT devices that are very low on energy consumption.
Energy is the main reason that smart devices cannot have great graphics or user interface, but Think Silikon's provide a solution to that problem and hopefully it will be adopted by many bigger companies.

Tradeline
Not it's not a crypto trading platform as you may have thought. George Cahntzaras and George Pappas created a platform for the shipping and commodities trading industries.
Blockchain technology can help manage these huge transactions and provide security and instant payments.

Metis Cybertechnology
The last and only presenter that wasn't a George , Michalis Konstantinidis co-founder and CEO told us about Metis Cybertechnology and the implementation of Electronics Engineering, IoT, Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence in ships.
It was fascinating to see that they have installed sensors in ships that communicate with each other and send real time data to ship operators, so that they can optimize performance.
The meetings of Open Coffee Athens take place at Benaki Museum and it is a great way to be part of the Greek startup and tech community.

And until the next blockchain meetup…
