And one more blockchain! While Facebook teams are in the process of reshuffling, David Marcus, vice president of Facebook and former CEO of Paypal , announced that a team was currently being created to best integrate a blockchain Facebook.

Each year, Mark Zuckerbeg announces his New Year's greetings and a list of challenges. Thus, a few months ago, Zuckerberg announced his foray into the crypto world .

If we are still far from seeing a "Facebook Coin" arrive, an important news comes from David Marcus, the current president of Messenger, former CEO of Paypal, and also member of the board of directors of Coinbase .

Facebook will probably have its blockchain. No information has circulated so far, and it is unclear how, or for what purposes, this hypothetical blockchain will be put in place. However, in the light of recent scandals, it can be assumed that the storage and encryption of private data is at the top of the priority list of all executives in the social network."After almost four incredibly rewarding years running Messenger, I decided it was time for me to take on a new challenge. I am setting up a small group to explore how to get the most out of blockchain on Facebook, starting from scratch. " David Marcus

Why so much agitation?

A big reshuffle is taking place these days within Facebook's premises. This reshuffle comes a few weeks after the Cambridge Analytica scandal . As a reminder, this British firm had retrieved, via a psychological questionnaire, the data of 87 million users (without their knowledge), and was then engaged by the campaign team of Donald Trump . This "data leak" would have greatly influenced the US election, arming Trump's teams with the confidential information of millions of US citizens .

Thus, after the hearing before the US Congress or Mark Zuckerberg had made his mea-culpa, and promised to "fix" Facebook : the company is undergoing its largest reorganization in 15 years . It is indeed more than a dozen executives who change positions (without leaving the ship).

Knowing the titanic means - both financial and cerebral - that Facebook has, it is very likely that the group is further developing the blockchain, perhaps propelling technology into a new era. Now, it only remains to wait!
