Sirin Labs has released its new Blockchain smartphone called Finney, featuring secure mobile technology and a cold wallet.

The characteristics of Finney

Sirin Labs' innovative smartphone was created in tribute to the late Bitcoin developer Hal Finney . Foxconn, an iPhone maker, has contributed to the production of the Blockchain device (based on the Blockchain) which costs $ 999 and can be pre-ordered on the official Sirin Labs website. It will also be available on Amazon Launchpad in January.

Finney has 6GB of RAM, a 6-inch touchscreen powered by an Octa-Core processor and runs on the Sirin OS operating system.

A second touch screen is connected to the body of the smartphone for viewing functions related to cryptocurrencies. This is an extra security measure. Using the second screen automatically encrypts all actions performed. A firewall protects the data on the device.

Also, the software has a digital token conversion program, namely Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).

While the rendering of the front camera is quite similar to that of the Solarin model, the back camera is 12 megapixels. The device has 128 GB of storage that can expand with a micro-SD card. It connects easily to Bluetooth, NFC and WiFi networks.

"Sirin Labs is also looking for strategic OEMs to implement Sirin OS in other consumer devices," the company said in its announcement.

A big rival for Finney?

Another smartphone produced by High Tech Corporation (HTC) is competing with Finney. This other mobile device incorporates Blockchain security into its system. The HTC Exodus 1 model will use a modified version of the Android operating system.

The general public can also preorder this device at the cutting edge of the latest technology on the HTC website through BTC or ETH. Its price is set at about $ 600, or 0.15 BTC at the time of writing.
