Information Technology and Computer Science have always been fields that require continuing education after college. This is more true now than ever. The way things are going it seems like nearly everything will be blockchain based within the next 5 years and industry leading companies are beginning to understand that if they don't catch this wave now, they will be left behind.
I was just thinking about how I'd hate to be a new graduate at this time without having some courses related to blockchain technology under my belt. There are definitely some courses out there being offered by leading technological universities like MIT, Stanford and UC Berkley but the majority of schools are just starting to catch on if they've caught on at all. I'm sure the majority of new graduates for 2017 have not had any blockchain courses, as blockchain technology is just now beginning to enter mass adoption and most universities just don't have those options yet.
Computer Science has always been a fast moving field but blockchain technology is a complete paradigm shift. Is the class of 2017/2018 ready? And how do you think education will affect the trajectory of this new technology? And better yet, when will we see the first decentralized university?
