It was at the recent passing of that original crypto-anarchist Tim May, that I decided to find out just what is a cypherpunk and what it means to be a crypto-anarchist. Tim is up there in the legendary crypto hall of fame along with Julian Assange and Satoshi Nakamoto. Satoshi is in fact so cryptic that nobody knows who he is, even though he presented the world with the original gift of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency when he released his white paper in 2009. So he would be the archetypal crypto-anarchist, opening the gates to cyber liberation, privacy and decentralisation for all who follow in his footsteps.
Julian Assange is another crypto-anarchist who became so famous for his service to society that he has been under permanent inhumane “house arrest” in the London based Ecuadorian embassy for over six years. This revolutionary successfully ran an encrypted platform for whistlblowers to send their findings on the crimes of our governments – war crimes and crimes against humanity. He is the epitome of the cyber soldier or crypto-warrior, putting his life on the line to protect us from the biggest criminals of all – our governments. And the bigger the government, the bigger the criminal and the crime it seems, judging by the revelations from Wikileaks.
These legends put crypto-anarchy to its greatest public use, because this type of anarchy is basically a way to restore the critical balance between the rights of the individual and the power of the state. Left to their own devices, the state seldom, if ever, serves the rights of the individual. Usually they are self-serving corrupted takers and abusers of the system, exploiting the property of the people for personal political or private gain. That is how one becomes a top politician. You either have to be a psychopath who can climb over the corpses of your competitors to get to the top, without the luxury of empathy to hold you back, or you have to sell out to the biggest villain in the room in order to keep your job or grow.
Therefore crypto-anarchy is a tool to disable the very concept of state control. It can, when used like a sword of intelligence and knowledge, cut the ropes that keep the state in place by denying them the ability to raise funds. Lobbying, as practiced in America today, is simply a way for the richest sponsor to pay for his ideology to be implemented. Even if it means, for example, protecting a criminal state like Israel, blight to the map of the earth that they are. America will rather fire its own citizens from the jobs and deny them future work than allow them to say a bad word about the crimes of Israel. “Deny BDS or suffer” is what they tell their own citizens. Support the crimes of Israel or suffer the consequences. Such villainy by America’s government is not because of the American citizenry but rather due to a few elite psychopaths with money who pay their way by lobbying, in order to have their crimes protected by their lackeys and running dogs, the politicians in parliament.
Crypto-anarchy and the cypherpunks can disable that fraudulent and degenerate system by hacking it anonymously with encryption. A system that can “misplace” $2 trillion of tax payers money from their budget, like the Pentagon can, certainly needs to be hacked and scrapped. A political system that can give freely hundreds of millions of dollars of its tax payers’ money to other criminal states like Saudi and Israel (Ashkenazi brothers behind the scenes) so that they can murder, kill and maim their helpless neighbours and occupy their land, needs to be hacked and sacked by the cipher punks.
I was a citizen of Apartheid South Africa as a child and I saw first-hand the crimes of my government in the name of political greed and distorted religious doctrine. Therefore, I say with experience that the Apartheid state of Israel, a pseudo-nation that actually runs America like its province, needs to be subjected to the same BDS (boycott, divest, sanctions) that my old criminal government was subjected to. I speak from a morally conscientious objector standpoint. A crime against humanity is a crime, regardless of how big the state is that commits it. Crypto-anarchists, we have a job to do. Julian Assange showed us the way. Expose the crimes and awaken the uninformed citizenry. Assange should not suffer in vain for his whistle blowing service, even if he dies a martyr for the cause.
As Eric Hughs said in his Cypherpunk Manifesto, privacy is necessary. Privacy is not secrecy. The former is something you don’t want the whole world to know, but secrecy is something you don’t want anyone to know.
“Privacy is the power to selectively reveal oneself to the world.” Eric Hughs
This is where blockchain comes in as the ability to facilitate anonymous transaction systems, particularly for the movement of money and information. Hughes further reminded us that we cannot actually expect governments, corporations and other large and faceless organizations to simply grant us privacy out of their goodwill. In fact it is in their best interests to do the opposite – surveillance, monitoring and snooping. And that has increased with modern technology in recent years. And that’s where cryptography and crypto-anarchy comes to the rescue.
Admittedly I’m not a cypherpunk in the true sense of the word since I don’t yet know code. Still I adhere to their ethic and I do participate in the cryptocurrency industry. Almost daily. And like the cypherpunks, I believe the power of the state needs to be kept in balance with the needs of the private citizen. As technology today allows for a camera in every corner of the city, and in places like China the citizen is already controlled by the social credit score, I believe we need the crypto-anarchists more than ever. Obviously security is important and harm toward others in any form is to be avoided or punished, and modern tech can help with that. But the balance is important, and as the new “intelligent dust’’ comes into being, mentioned by Julian Assange, we need to be alert as the tipping point is crossed and AI, drones, mini drones and all the rest increase their invasion of our privacy and liberties at the hands of untrustworthy politicians.
Blockchain and cryptocurrency are the first line of defense against BigBrother as the dystopian Orwellian 1984 scenario comes into being. In America today I would be labelled a criminal simply for writing this blog. I would be demonized like other honourable whistle blowers and activist journalists in that province of Israel south of the Canadian border. It seems almost too late for China, America and other top superpowers because their governments have already been hijacked by dictators and megalomaniacal criminals. It’s been like that since the Zionists took over in the nineteenth century already. They fomented WW1 and WW2 so that they could illegally occupy Palestine, with the help of the colonialist British Empire and the Balfour Declaration.
Well it won’t be as easy for them anymore now that Satoshi and the cypherpunks have offered us a solution. The WW3 cyber war is already in progress as hackers and activist journalists become the new front line, assisted by cypherpunks and libertarians globally. Blockchain tech and cryptography are our way forward. This is my own personal opinion based on 50 years of experience on the planet along with enough research to convince me that in today’s trustless society, we have to stay informed and inform others. If I get taken out by Mossad, so be it, but my words will remain on the blockchain to be read again and again. I will return birth after birth to fight for the rights of the oppressed and victimized underdog. I will always be a rebel, an anarchist and a punk. In this incarnation my tools just happen to be the laptop and the blockchain.
Where do you stand in this war for the minds of the masses. Leave your opinion in the comments if you care or if you dare.

Thanks for this great read Julian! I have been brainwashed as a kid about anarchy, thinking it was something negative while not knowing what it really stands for.
Thankfully, a couple years back I broke free from the government indoctrination and other forms of brainwashing to realize what's really going on in the world and soon enough I learned the true meaning of anarchy and found myself to be an anarchist.
With the internet and the age of information I'm hopeful that more will come to realize how we have been constantly lied to and that the image of everything has been twisted and turned into something very far away from reality.
Resteemed to get you some more exposure and a little boost is on its way!

Hey good to know one can be open and honest in expressing political opinions here on Steemit. People need to be aware that there is a war for the mind on planet earth. Writers, journalists and activists are the messengers who can tell others what is going on and keep them informed. I appreciate the Steemit platform for that purpose. Blockchain is great for media in this information war.

Yes! Even more so because most people here share that same mindset. Especially when it comes to opposing the control system and everything it stands for and wants to do to the society.

Can't help but noticing that the post below by @arcange mentions how the article made it to the hit parade for newcomers, with a pending payout of $5,13 but that as it stands now, a day later, the payout value of the article is only $5,08. Is it possible that some are downvoting it and making the payout less? Perhaps due to differing opinion.

No, no one is flagging your post. The payouts value fluctuates in correlation with the price swings of Steem. So, sometimes you will see your post lose value as Steem price drops and vice versa.
