“Isn’t there a code market already? We receive this question a lot because it seems impossible one does not exist. But before blockchain technology became scalable it was impossible to license and track the code distribution globally” — says codum co-founders Liucijus Urmonas and Kestutis Januskevicius. They are the first ones to create EOSIO and git based community driven market of code for different programming languages in one place.

Codum project has started its fundraising and is doing it differently than other blockchain projects. Since it seeks out to be decentralized, instead of Private and Public fundraising they are doing fundraising Rounds A and B where anyone can purchase the CODUM tokens.

“There is no minimum limit for the purchase and it helps to scale the number of CODUM owners. It makes the internal economy more stable because no one owns the majority of tokens”- says codum CTO Kestutis Januskevicius.

“The amount of funds we seek to collect is particularly small — Round A soft cap is 3840000 CODUM while the price of 1 CODUM is only 0.1250 EUR. We wanted it to be affordable for anyone. You can all participate in codum fundraising at http://codum.io” — adds CEO Liucijus Urmonas.

The idea of codum was founded after long years in the programming field. It solves a great problem of coders who with the help of codum will be working more efficiently and faster because they would not need to rewrite the code which was already written by somebody else. Right now about 80% of code is private and undiscoverable while only 20% is open source. “That is why we receive a lot of support from developers who cannot wait to start using this system, browse and upload their own code” — adds CEO of codum.

Codum system is going to work similarly to Google where the code would become discoverable by search engines, but also a little differently because it would be secured from copying it by smart contracts and “knife”. System works for both: the seller and the buyer. Code sellers could be ensured no one can see the code before purchasing it and the buyers will know the code will work because of the smart contract the two are going to sign.

The best part is that anyone will be able to create their own code shop based on codum where CODUM tokens will be used in exchange for the received services. Also, people who do not know how to code but have great ideas for IT systems will be able to find the developers or whole teams more easily to implement those ideas.
