Workbox is one of the Dapp that is a part of the Acorn ecosystem, and operates on MARO.

What does all that mean? Let me break it down here:

MARO was once TTC but have since been renamed on 22 Sep 2020. In simple terms, it is a platform that encourage interactions between people to ‘connect, cooperate and prosper’ and generate ‘value and opportunities’. It has a stand-alone blockchain solution.

MARO connect is the wallet that enables you to trade token on the MARO blockchain such as ACN.

Acorn protocol is an ecosystem designed to allow collaborations in relation to data where contributors are rewarded.

Acorn Box has features of a wallet and access to DAPPs under Acorn protocol.

One of the Dapp built using Acorn protocol is Workbox.

Workbox currently has online projects on image labeling and collection used for machine learning. Get paid ACN for completing tasks.

Now that we had a basic understanding, let’s get into action:

First of all, you will want to download the MARO connect wallet (can be found on app store or https://connect.ma.ro/)
- Register and complete KYC process, mine took a few hours to verify my account.
Download Acorn Box from your app store through search, and login with MARO connect

Then you will land on this page which shows different DAPPs built using Acorn protocol.

There might be a tutorial that you have to complete but it will just be similar to the real one. An example of the real labeling task is shown below.
- Labeling task is usually quite easy and straightforward - for example the task below requires you to select the gender based on the image.

Once you have done the tutorial, the home page will display the various tasks available which you can earn ACN on. It specifies the number of ACN per task and varies according to the requirement - currently, the rate is 50~100 ACN/task for image collection and 0.5~5 ACN/task for labeling.
- These tasks are used for machine learning, and machine learning is, in this case asking a real human to teach a machine to accurately identify what is being displayed.
- Every task you complete will take time to process, usually about few minutes but can take up to 24 hours. When it has been processed, claim the reward shown at the top of your Workbox and it will show in the balance of your Acorn Box and MARO connect.
