Nebula AI - A blockchain to reinforce the AI community

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies are evolving at a rapid pace. A core component of modern machine learning technology is Deep Learning that mainly encompasses "algorithms inspired by the structure and function of the brain called artificial neural networks". It is Deep Learning that has facilitated a new era of intelligent applications such as object/image classification, handwriting recognition, and fairly more advanced applications such as Image Recognition, Voice assistance, Image Caption Generation, Autonomous cars, Brain Cancer Detection, Prediction Markets.

An important thing to note here is that Deep learning requires high-end GPUs to perform millions of mathematical computations in parallel (CPUs are too slow). Coincidentally, we also have a new era in distributed computing ushered by several Blockchain networks. Blockchain presents a unique way to "Share" the computing power needed for these complex Deep Learning computations. Here we introduce Nebula AI, a third generation blockchain that specifically focuses on the AI ecosystem, i.e bringing capabilities to share computing power and also creating an infrastructure for the developers to host their AI applications.

Nebula AI, abbreviated as NBAI, is a blockchain network that will create a unique ecosystem of miners, AI developers and end users. With NBAI, miners will be able to convert their mining hash power to AI computing power. Developers, on the other hand, will be able to utilize training services to build decentralized AI application quickly and deploy them to the network. And finally, users shall be able to access and use this cutting-edge decentralized AI apps​ (DAI apps) using the native cryptocurrency/token (NBAI token).

When you talk about a new blockchain, one of the important things to discuss is the consensus mechanism. The NBAI blockchain will use a unique, state-of-the-art consensus mechanism known as Proof of Group (PoG). The PoG will have a working group of several nodes known as "Work Nodes". These working groups need to communicate with each other and together compose a "Ledger" through Byzantine consensus. A work node being the main AI computing task execution node will perform the complex AI computing tasks. A "Ledger", in addition to doing normal ledger functions, is responsible for allocating subtasks to all work nodes in the area, the results of which are then written into the peer to peer hypermedia storage protocol InterPlanetary File System(IPFS). Ledgers kind of acting like the "leader" will be responsible for verification of the tasks.

The NBAI ecosystem will be powered by the NBAI token that will be required by the developers for model training, users for using DAI APPs and also for the ​purchase of DAI training services. There will be SDKs in mainstream languages such as python, java, and .net. The Nebula AI Foundation will spearhead the activities bolster the Nebula AI ecosystem. These will involve the setting up of an AI Joint Laboratory and an AI Engineer Training Center.
