Blockchain Technology helps Youth Understand their Responsibility in a Democracy

"Only government can take perfectly good paper, cover it with perfectly good ink and make the combination worthless." Milton Friedman wants us to ask ourselves, "Why should we entrust our money management to governments?"

It hints that we must not give our governments supreme power over our economy because it requires us to assume full trust in the system, when in fact, all the systems are run on the decisions of man, who works for the better or worse for society. We need a "trustless" system.

One of the main features of Blockchain is that it gives every node on the system the responsibility to verify the entire chain of blocks representing all transactions made over time. So too, every citizen or node need to check and verify every transaction or decision made by our governments else they will always try to take our freedom away.

"Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty." We have the mentality that we are not cut out for politics or do not follow it because it is a waste of time. In fact, Blockchain allows us to understand that every citizen must be constantly aware and vigilant on the state of affairs of our society else one day we will find ourselves trying to go about our own lives with a tyrant above our head. The rising youth in the generation of Blockchain, understanding its philosophy, will take up the responsibility and act as an essential node in the system, verifying every transaction for the benefit of our home, community, nation and the rest of the world.
