Minister De Croo is considering to start a pilot blockchain project to collect the votes during the upcoming elections later on in 2018. He also stated that he is not opting for a system being used in Estonia, where voters can even vote from home, because it could mean that people are being influenced during their the voting process.
International projects have shown the potential of using blockchain during elections De Croo says. A great example would be the follow my vote project, which offers a safe and transparent open-source voting platform.
