We live in an era with a glut of information. So many events and incidents are happening simultaneously! News about the world is bombarding us and occupying our attention. Everyday trillions of words are being used to inform us, but usually with some intention and subtext.
That’s precisely why today there are some very popular platforms for sharing visual content, (e.g. YouTube, Instagram etc). Because, when you see something on your own you have a more objective idea about what is happening, and when you capture it with a camera, your images can inform others in a way that newspapers headlines or TV news reports cannot.
Thus, today the mass-media has lost its position as the exclusive source of information and manipulator of public opinion. Now, anybody who has a smartphone with even a primitive camera can become SELF-mass-media. Photos and video footage taken at event sites by a passerby could get millions of views, and may tell the truth about what happened better and more easily than a well-equipped camera crew from some TV station.
Undoubtedly, visual content will always remain the most popular form of art. Thousands of years ago, people shared important data and preserved memories through cave art. Today, this need to share emotions is realized through special sites and applications. Every photo, even a simple one, taken with a common phone, can become a piece of art to be admired, without the need to buy an entrance ticket to a museum or exhibition.
I am excited by the fact that amazingly high-quality and unique shots are being generated today by many people, millions, in fact, who are NOT professional photographers. Some aspire to become an ultra-popular blogger, to have crowds of followers, and contracts with the biggest advertisers. Others are happy simply with the attention and ‘likes’ from friends, for sharing their photos of breakfasts, their selfies with celebrities, or sunrises and sunsets.
In my case, it all started with the purchase of a camera, then shooting several photos of wild nature during a photo-safari. I eventually decided to create a platform with photobank with bright photographers. At the moment I’m spending my days and nights developing a completely new system of sharing visual content. It has name — SELFLLERY. Thanks to this new platform, you will not only share beautiful photos and get reactions from the internet-audience, but you’ll also be able to earn cryptocurrency for your efforts. Just imagine! This will be a reality very soon. On the 5th of March 2018 SELFLLERY launches ICO campaign and starts Token Sale. Please join! http://tge.selfllery.com/
