It's been more than two years since I've started working as Blockchain consultant, with an exclusive focus on the blockchain market. I've attended many events, conferences, meetups, workshops, training, and meetings with Blockchain as the main topic. I've spoken to many people connected directly or indirectly to the blockchain ecosystem. There are many live "public" blockchains, mostly focusing on cryptocurrencies and I love many of them, but I was looking and I am still looking for live corporate blockchain projects, with "production" status, with real users and real data.
Let me clarify what I mean by a "live corporate blockchain project". I am looking for an online platform with 4 components:
A network of peers/nodes (mandatory different entities) running the infrastructure and the consensus protocol
The software layer: blockchain client tools, RPC endpoints and extensible APIs, synchronized in the above network
The "shared ledger" and the "smart contracts"/business logic and workflow.
The front-end user application(s) or dApp(s) directly linked to a real use case and business process
For the past year, I've worked with my team (clever squad!) in the Directorate General for Informatics (DIGIT) of the European Commission to deliver the first pan-European Blockchain project which is now live, with real consortium members and real data. I am
proud and grateful for having been able to contribute to this project. It is a real satisfaction to deliver the first live, "tangible" project based on blockchain technology.
