Fulfilling our commitment to inform every advance that exists in the scenario of these days considering the development of the action and safeguard measures that we are taking, we would like to make explicit the following:
1- Yesterday, April 16, Banco Scotiabank filed with the Court of Appeals of Santiago its version of the facts alleged in the protection remedy that CryptoMKT filed during March
2- The main argument presented by Scotiabank in its report refers to "the market for cryptocurrencies can only be characterized as a highly risky activity given its potential link with illegal trade". From CryptoMKT we want to state that this vision is absolutely obsolete, being our country the only place where it is blocked to disruptive technologies such as cryptocurrencies. Other economies such as the USA, Japan and European countries have an openness and collaboration with these technologies, allowing the inclusion of millions of people to a more just, simple and efficient system.
3- From our beginnings as an organization we have been responsible and cautious in generating a platform that, complying with the norms established by law, guarantees to be safe, transparent and reliable. All this to allow our users to participate actively and directly in the cryptocurrency market, enhancing their participation in a new form of economy. Today, faced with the current scenario, we have decided to deepen that battle for economic freedom that we have taken with our community.
4- As a next step we are working together with the prestigious law firm Estudio Bravo, specialized in economic regulation and free competition (the same study that won the negotiation for the case of "Collusion of comfort"), to respond to Scotiabank bank before the court of Appeals of Santiago. Additionally, we are preparing a lawsuit before the Court of Free Competition, all of this in order to ensure our right to be a contribution in the development of a strong and diverse economy that does not exclude anyone.
5- We reiterate our interest in maintaining a fluid and transparent communication with our community. Today more than ever, it is necessary that we open these issues so that once and for all we can advance in open economic innovation as a form of development for the Country.
