This does not need any convincing because we in Steemit platform are already aware of the benefits of Blockchain.
I came across a great article which I wanted to quote. I did not author it. I just happened to come across the article and wanted to share with everyone.

Blockchain will bring in transparency and that will weed out a lot of hype around people, tools, processes and thereby helping everyone else (the users) actually leverage the system better.
