Brave Browser - a free, open-source, and private web browser that rewards you in BAT tokens

in blockchain •  6 years ago  (edited)

Brave is a completely free and open-source web browser that blocks ads and website trackers. Brave is currently developing it's most anticipated feature which allows users to decide whether or not they would like to receive ads sold by Brave Software in place of the blocked ads. The browser plans to distribute 55% of the replaced ad revenue to content publishers. The Brave Software, advertisement partners, and users would be each given 15% of the revenue. This browser was actually built by Basic Attention Token cryptocurrency as a way for their coin to be exchanged between publishers, advertisers, and users. The Brave browser knows what users like while still respecting their privacy by anonymously monitoring users attention, making it an amazing tool to calculate and reward publishers with BATs. Essentially, Brave helps BAT to act as a decentralized, transparent digital ad exchange that cuts out the greedy middlemen.

I personally love using the Brave browser due to it's speediness, simplicity, sleek interface and level of customization. I think Brave does a great job at blocking unwanted ads which evidently saves people tons of time while browsing the web. Not only does this project have an amazing working product but it also has a fantastic team, the founder of Brave and BasicAttentionToken being Brendan Eich who created Javascript and was the Co-Founder of Mozilla and Firefox. So obviously this man is very experienced at building credible platforms which shows the mountains of success Brave and BasicAttentionToken could potentially achieve.

As of August 20, 2018, the browser is available on macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android so you really should not have a hard time using Brave. Also the current version of Brave has 20 different search engines loaded up by default, including DuckDuckGo, Google, StartPage, and Yandex Search.

I've been using the Brave browser since January 2018, and blocks all ads and rewards us in BAT tokens, Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft cant compare!!!

I really like brave. Windows 10 refused to allow it to have default browser status. I thought that was funny. Thanks for your post.

Ahah me too man

Im still trying to figure out how to set it on my phone to allow ads and pay me some BAT. Ill always be #dashy.

Well hope you figure it out man!

How the people receive BAT tokens while browsing?

Good question may be hard to see in my article but you can receive them by viewing ads as you have the option to hide or display ads.

I recently started using Brave. You can score either by saving broadband through not having adds involuntarily downloaded, or by allowing ads and the be rewarded in BAT for actively looking at those. I prefer the no-ads option.

Nice man! Me too

This has potential to be a great browser...I hope the company makes the right choice to achieve this...

I know right! Me too
