Kodak is launching a blockchain service for working with photos on six leading sports arenas of the NBA and NHL in the US, the company said.
WENN Digital, which licensed Kodak's photographic brand for crypto currency and its associated digital rights management platform, announced a partnership with the Oak View Group sports arena. The project will enable sports fans and photographers to use KODAKOne's blockchain platform for loading and processing photos in six major US sports arenas.
These include AT & T Center, the home court of the San Antonio Spurs basketball club, the Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Golden 1 Center, Sacramento Kings, Xcel Energy Center, the Prudential Center ("New Jersey Devils" and Talking Stick Resort Arena ("Phoenix Suns").
Fans will be invited to register, upload and share their photos, or video in real time on KODAKOne and receive a reward in KODAKCoin.
Photographers can also use KODAKOne for and storage, licensing and sales of their works within the community. Block technology is used to track and secure ownership of content.
"We want to provide the KODAKOne platform to creative people who, in our opinion, will get new opportunities and become its active audience," WENN Digital Director-General Jan Denecke said.
According to him, the main focus of work with it will be "fair pay for photographers and their entry into a new economy adapted for them with the safe management of asset rights."
"Sports arenas have become a natural" location for launching the photo project, taking into account millions of fantastic photos of live events generated every year on OVG venues, "Denecke said.
Oak View Group Arena Alliance manages venues for world-class events and sports, which are visited by more than 65 million people every year in the largest cities of North America. This year, OVG attracted about $ 100 million in financing.
