In Japan, a closed round table on the regulation of the blockchain was held

The Japanese Financial Services Agency (FSA) disclosed information about the recent closed round table, in which regulators and central banks of several countries took part in a joint research project related to blockchain technology. The meeting discussed the opportunities and risks that open and closed blockchain carry in themselves. As confirmed by the FSA, the events took place on 8 and 9 March. The regulator's statement says:

"At the round table, the advantages and risks of blockchain technology were considered. As part of this initiative, the FSA is currently conducting a study on the vulnerability of open blockchain and related security issues, as well as their technical implications. "

The participants of the round table were representatives of central banks of Singapore, Canada and Japan, as well as financial regulators from Great Britain, Abu Dhabi, France, Hong Kong and Australia. Also, the meeting was attended by researchers from the Media Laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Tokyo and Keio University.

Among other things, the participants of the event talked about the potential of the blockchain, the protection of users and testing of technology. FSA notes that the round table was held so that representatives of different countries could share their views on the technology of the blockchain in the framework of the Multilateral Joint Research project, the FSA initiative launched in 2017 to stimulate international efforts in the development and implementation of the detachment.

Although any details of the discussions that took place during the closed round table are not being disclosed at the moment, a statement on the general results of the meetings can be made soon after the information has been coordinated with all the participants, the FSA reports.
