Yo, how goes it my doods? I decided it was about time for me to make another one of these crusty posts since it's been a couple of weeks, and I'm trying to make sure I stay semi active here instead of just melting into a puddle of ass. If you've never seen one of these posts before, it's just a little curated post of songs/bands that I've found in recent times which I enjoyed, that many of you have probably never heard of. Now, I'm a big fan of metal music so that tends to be a pretty decent majority of the music I share here, but I do try to throw in a few tracks that appeal to a wider audience here and there. But, considering there's only like 3 people who seem to be alive these days, I guess you can all just suck it, suck it dry. Lets get into the tunes :)
1: ERRA - Nigh to Silence
The first track is coming from the band ERRA, which is probably one of the best modern metalcore bands around right now. They're based out of Alabama, but I'm guessing they're not much into sister fucking and all that peak southern culture. I absolutely love the instrumental work with this band, they're definitely a mix of progressive metal with metalcore. (This track is probably one of the easier to play songs from this band.) The clean vocals are also my jam, though I've always had a thing for more emo sounding singing. I do think the metal vocals are just okay, I think the vocalist does well with the range he displays. But, I just wish I heard a bigger mixture of highs/lows with his mids. Definitely a band of pure talent though, and I'd highly recommend them if you're into metalcore.
2: Dance Gavin Dance - Synergy
My second pick for this week is coming from post hardcore/metalcore band Dance Gavin Dance. These guys are based out of California, and have been around for almost 20 years. Even after almost two decades, they're still putting out absolute fucking bangers. I really love the vocal work with the post hardcore screams and cleans, and the instrumental stuff is super fun and catchy. These guys do almost happy sounding breakdowns, and it's just a really chill vibe to listen to in general. I definitely would say this song in particular has a summer vibe to it, the kind of track you might have on in the car with the windows down while pretending you're a greaser enjoying the road from the 50's. You fucking freak. But, yeah. This is probably the most lighthearted track I'll have in here this week, so give it a try if you're looking for something that isn't super heavy.
3: Tallah - Telescope
The third pick for this week is a band I think I've shared on here once before, probably a year or so ago at this point. They're called Tallah, and they're a modern Nu-metal band based out of Pennsylvania. I'll be honest, I absolutely fucking hated most nu-metal growing up, and I could just never get into it. As an adult, I can find a few things here and there from back then that I appreciate a bit more than when I was a kid. But, I'm still not a huge fan of the genre. However, these guys are absolutely fucking killer and give that genre an entire new life, in my opinion. The vocal work is wild when it comes to the range and style, the only person I could compare it to would be Mike Patton from Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk. Just, you know, more metal. The instrumental stuff is also really fun. If you were big into the nu-metal scene back in the late 90s/early 2000's, then you might dig this. And, if you hated that shit then you also might dig this. It's a win-win pussybois.
4: Witchouse 40k - Spiderblood
And, now for something totally different. This track comes from a rap artist known as Witchouse 40k, which I doubt anyone here has heard of. I'm normally not super into rap, but there are a handful of exceptions out there and this is one of them. I've noticed a lot of rap artists over the last few years venturing into horror/darkcore and metal influences and I've been really enjoying it. This would be one of those examples. Definitely a dark beat and theme going on with the music, and the vocals themselves draw some influences with metal music for sure. (I mean, come on, part of the song is literally that black metal BLEGH vocal technique.) I've also noticed some metal artists taking influence from the newest generation of rap artists, on the other hand, which has been fun to check out. Which brings us to the next track.
5: Bitter Bliss - Dopamine
Yeah, you like that transition don't you, you dirty fucking slut? The final track I'm throwing on here is from a really new project which is a two piece consisting of Richard Janvrin (A smaller Youtube content creator as well as Twitch streamer), and Johnny Ciardullo from the band Angelmaker. While the music itself is certainly still within the hardcore/metal genre, the vocal style and groove definitely takes some influence from modern rap music and incorporates it in a really fun way. This band only has two tracks out as of now, but, they're both really solid with some fun music work and passionate lyrics/vocals. I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye on this band and I'm excited to hear more from them. Would for sure recommend them to anyone here interested in some angry music that channels that pissed off at your parents for not getting you an xbox for Christmas energy.
Well, there's another week of music for you degenerates. Hopefully you find a track or two that you enjoy. If not, I don't give a fuck. I'm just here to make content and milk you suckers for some of that sweet, sexy crypto. But, yeah. Until next time my doods!
Later!
