@blocktrades, although taxing has its way of helping the community and government, but many atimes the workers and officers make it seem as a devastation, especially to the average citizen.
Mine isn’t so far, my father was working for the government of my country here in Africa, and also he loved diversifying his revenue sources, so he had some personal business and trades. It was unknown to us that tax officers in charge of my Dad’s ministry observed accounts that do not spend their salaries frequently, took advantage of this to extort greatly from such accounts, with my father’s being one of them.
This went on for about 5years, we only found out when my Dad’s bank came up with the bank alert service, over a $1000 worth of money in my currency has been extorted so far. My Dad refused taking legal actions, he claimed it would be a waste of more money, such legal actions are very costly in my country especially when against the government.
I pray daily that God should help my government. And I also celebrate the end of @blocktrades's tax return Nightmares.
