This world cup has been undoubtedly one of the most surprising editions in a very long time. Unexpected results have became an everyday occurrence.

So much so that you wonder if the bookies are crying or laughing.

Football is a sport where everything can happen, and it’s not surprising to see smaller teams exceeding expectations. For example, Sweden and Bulgaria in 1994, Croatia in 1998, Turkey in 2002… Etc.

But nothing at the scale we’re seeing right now. Which makes picking the results of the next round all the more difficult.

You’re stuck between adapting to this new momentum where the underdogs are constantly (and consistently) knocking out the favorites, or if the trend would reverse in the next round.

But the best thing is that it doesn’t matter. This is just a game and no one holds the crystal ball, so why not have some fun and take some wild guesses.

You may be wrong about the Croatia Vs Russia match as I see the Russians are so determined to host and win. Well lets wait and see on Saturday.
