Do I believe in Ghosts?

Short answer... no.

Longer answer... I really, really wish I did.

There's a lot in the Universe I'm aware of through science that I find amazing, diamonds the size of planets for instance. Tiny creatures able to survive at the bottom of the Ocean under massive amounts of pressure.

Not a day goes by I don't see something new and think how amazing that is.

I wish Ghosts was one of them.

I love Ghost stories or the notion of going somewhere "Haunted" and being apart of the feeling there's something there. Something I can't explain. It would be grand and almost Christmas like for me, the same way a kid gets to experience Santa Claus.

Do I believe in Aliens? Yes.

Do I believe in Paralell universes? The numbers are there to prove it.

But I miss Ghosts.

My God daughter used to be scared of them and asked me once if they would hurt her. She was at an age I knew that if I said they don't exist her imagination wouldn't allow her to believe me.

So I pointed out that we're First Nations... American Indian for those South of the Canadian Border... where we live our family has been living for thousands of years and any Ghosts would be a grand parent... great grandparent or great grandparent of the great grandparent.

Family. Like us, who as Ghosts, would look out for us and actually protect us from other Ghosts.

She liked that and was good for the next year.

I can only image that safety.

I like the thought of your past family members protection you from things you can't see.
Depending on the mood I'm in, my answer changes. Yes, no– maybe... I don't know.

I do like this article. You might now believe n ghosts, but i, as hell do. I have even written 2 part story here about my worst (or best?) experience with them. If yo uwould have time, maybe you can read them? It will msot likely not convince you, as you know nithing about me. But maybe you will bring me some racionalism into it.
