Surprise hospital visit

Arrived last night from Arlington to Houston to be with Marisabel, my girlfriend. This morning we had a doctors appointment which was just a routine visit, or so we thought, this day would soon turn into a nightmare. Marisabel is currently 39 weeks pregnant and has been experiencing severe swelling during the 3rd trimester. At the clinic we got the news that Marisabel had high blood pressure and had high protein in her urine, these were factors that lead to being diagnosed with preeclampsia. We were both surprised by this news but we took the doctors advice and headed to the hospital. Upon arrival we were told Marisabel and the baby had to be monitored overnight to make sure her blood pressures goes back to normal and the protein in her urine to be normal as well. We were also told that if by the morning the lab results were not any better than she will have to be medically induced with a 40% risk of C-section. We are updating everyone on our journey to becoming parents, please send all the good vibes and prayers, we definitely need them at this scary time.
