Monday Struggles 💔

Hello Monday!

It is always a tough day for me to start the week. I admit that I am not a morning person to begin with.

My work starts at 9 o'clock in the morning and I always put an extra effort to wake up as early as I can during Mondays. Even though I woke up at 6 in the morning and leave the house before 7 in the morning, still I struggle in riding Jeep. (Oh by the way, Jeep is one of the most common means of transportation here in our country. You can find it only in the Philippines.)

Going back to my story, so every Mondays I had to walk for 15 to 20 minutes from the corner of our subdivision to where I believe I have the most chance to catch a Jeep. It was just recently that it took me an hour to be able to ride on it and it really makes me feel exhausted.

Say that I've luckily got on board already, but my struggle won't stop there. It is a 2 hours drive to get to the place where I am working and it is really a long way just to get there. I always encounter heavy traffic along Aguinaldo Highway. This heavy traffic is one of the main reason why I've decided to rent a house near my working place. It is so tiring dealing with the traffic everyday that's why I joined my friends renting a boarding house. This was really a big decision I've made. I've thought about it for more than a hundred times because this give me the chance to see my son for just only two days a week. And this thought made me sad. I hope that my son will understand the reason why I am working and why I've decided not to go home during weekdays. But I make sure to go home on weekends to make it up with him.

If we exceeded 60 minutes of late for the whole month, the HR personnel will give us a memo as first warning stating our habitual tardiness and if that will happen again we will be subject for suspension.

(this is what the first warning memo looks like. I received this on September last year. First and last memo for 2017! Picture taken by my Lenovo phone)

For a minimum wage earner like me, it is really hard to have lates and more so the suspension because it will be deducted to my salary as a sanction. That's why I am really extra careful about my lates but Mondays making it so hard for me. It isn't really my favorite day. I don't hate it though.

Today I got onboard by past 8 in the morning already and arrived at work 25 minutes too late (Just like a song title huh). My first and hopefully the last late for the month of February. It wasn't a good way to start with but I hope that I will still have good a day ahead of me!

Who's looking after zanji?
Better to use ur own photos if talking about the Philippines and use the tag #philippines

My mom is looking after Zanji po, Tita.

I'll keep that in mind and will apply it to my future post. Mababa po kasi resolution ng camera ng phone ko ngayon, that's why hindi po ako makapag picture using this.
