Virtual reality is certainly one of the most interesting aspects of gaming right now, and over the past few months, we've seen an increasing number of developers jumping onto the VR bandwagon. But despite there being a great deal of hype surrounding the technology, opinions about it vary wildly. Some think it's going to be the Next Big Thing, while others feel it's niche technology for hardcore enthusiasts only. But what i want to know is - what do you think? Are you going to be an early adopter of the technology, or are you a sceptic? Im looking forward to hearing your opinion!

VR has been the next big thing since, well...
I think VR will always be for enthusiasts and (as Pokemon Go is doing a great job at proving) AR will be the thing accepted by the masses. ARGs will be so much easier for the average person to use and the use cases are SO much greater. You can only go "deep" enough with VR, but AR keeps you in the real world, but opens a whole other aspect within it. I'd rather see a bunch of strangers walking around on a field together, discussing what Pokemon they've caught with the phone they already own than to hear someone spent another 1000 on an awesome setup that only one person can use and be involved with at a time. Don't get me wrong, some really cool stuff could be done with VR, but I think it will ultimately be adopted more for the likes of the education, medical and military fields.

I agree, AR is a technology with a potencial to be socially adaptable in that way, altough the VR experience sounds like something you do to have an experiencie, like go in a cave or fly, that kind of stuff, like you said the VR probably will keep the military fields.
