I Stepped into the K-Drama Zone Again and I am So Hooked.

in blog •  6 years ago

Ok... K-everything is quite a thing.

K-pop. Boom! Boom!?!

K-movies. Train to Busan?!

K-drama. Don't get me started...

With my time already limited to a lot of things, I did not really want to get so in-touch with this because I know it would be addicting.

I did mention that I can easily get hooked, right?

Hooked up until I am stiff.

I know, coz I've been there.

Something about K dramas.

I think you will agree with me when I say that they have really great storylines, encompassing simple to cute and heavy. Should I mention the good-looking characters too?😍 The setting? Lovely. Even the soundtracks are... wow!

Many years ago, back when my internet connection was too slow, I used to load at least 5 episodes of Full House in the morning before I head off to work so that when I reach in the evening, I can watch the streaming seamlessly.

Then a lot more followed. Even movies I now cannot recall.

The drawback.

Since Korean is obviously not my first language, I have to find those with English subtitles at least. I know in the Philippines they have acquired rights to air and dub most of these great series in Tagalog but something about dubbed movies/series do not appeal to me. It disturbs me that the audio I hear does not match the way the characters open their mouths.

So I prefer watching with subtitles and I cannot multitask.

Since I have to glue my eyes on the screen while watching, I cannot even have a wee-wee break without pausing it. Worst, I cannot go to the kitchen to cook. (I have this habit of turning the tv on then leaving it to just listen to the sound.)

The plunge.

Any which way, I still took the plunge.

K-Drama Fans, can you guess what's this?

Today is the start of a 3-day weekend for us. It is Eid Al Fitr or the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan. It is also the mid-summer days so any outdoor activities are not appealing, let alone recommended.

I am getting bored of watching documentaries and Brave Wilderness on youtube so I thought of searching for K-dramas. My friend has suggested Goblin [2016] to me sometime back but I did not heed because of the reasons stated above.

Today, however, is the day.

I have binged watched Goblin and have finished 4 episodes already.

I firmly believe that I can finish all 16(?) episodes before we report back to work on Monday.

The series is so compelling, it has brushed upon many different emotions on me already and I am just starting. I told you, I am hooked. :D

So I am not gonna stay longer here and continue where I have left off on my watching.

If you have other movies/series you would like to suggest, just hit me up in the comments... I will see if I can keep up. lol.

Until next time!

I also love full house! But have not watched Goblin. Like you I used to watch a lot of series then but things got different when I gave birth to my son. The good thing now, atleast I have mamaged to adjust slowly. I am able to have a time to post and read. Steemit has been part of my daily activities these past three weeks. 😉

I will try to watch this Goblin, reading this blog of yours, wants to give it a shot.

Fee months ago, I started watching smthn like "gentlemen"... i cannot remember the title now, as suggested by Avee. She's an addict. Lol. I did not finish watching the series. This one though, I think I will. 😄

When my kids were little, sometimes we would flip thru the channels and end up watching Korean tv shows. We couldn't understand a word they were saying, but still found them fascinating, lol! ;0

I need subtitles to watch. there's no way to understand by just listening. 😅I remember before though, i started to catch the meaning of a few korean words already. But that was a long time ago. Let's see how far i'd go with Goblin. Lol
