I think I've gone and done it. I haven't had a smoke since Sunday night and today I feel great.
I can walk up and down my stairs easier, I don't have to stop half way up to take a breath, I can walk to the shops and not be out of breath.
I really feel good today, I don't feel edgy like yesterday and I had a little more sleep than the night before which to me is a good thing.
I have seen that I have also saved my self £40 which is loads and I can tell as I have money in the bank, first time in along time.
So I have decided to treat the kids with the money I have saved.
and I am thinking in the kids holidays which is only two weeks away I am going to take them somewhere nice like a Alton Towers.
I think they deserve that.
One problem I have seen with this quitting smoking plan is I am more hungry than ever before, I am 20 stone and eat loads anyway but since Monday I have notice and increase in my apatite.
My jeans are becoming a little tighter than before so I am going to start to think about what I am eating.
More fruit and veg probably less meat and takeaways but I have to do something.
I would like to thank you all for commenting on my last few posts about this journey I have gone through. it helps when you have encouragement from a community.
We will see how the weekend goes and I will keep you all updated.

Great job...ive quit a few times before for a few years at a time. The 2nd and 3rd weeks are probably the toughest in my opinion but if you really want to quit you'll find the right mindset to do so.
Definitely a good idea to switch to more fruits and veggies but be prepaired to eat more of them to make up for the calories.
A gym membership might be in your future as well! =)

I don't drink alcohol any more 12 years sober but when I last quit I was a heavy drinker too, and I caved a soon as I hit the bottle.
I should be fine now that I have a plan to spend the money on the kids and to give myself a little bit of presure I have told the kids im taking out in the holidays so there is no going back.

Congratulations on continuing to make your choice to be done with smoking, keep making it! The money saved is always a great motivator and your determination and dedication is great cause for celebration, and it's great that you choose to share that with your children, your quitting is such an incredible gift that you keep giving them! :)
I, too, found myself eating more when I first quit because just like with the smoking, I was using it to fill boredom time or avoid something I didn't want to do. My mind let me tell myself I was doing it because I was physically addicted or it would help with stress, but all feeble lies upon reflection. All nicotine is already out of your system, it's a purely mental battle now and you are being successful! I found strength training to be a great way to put the extra calories to good use toward building muscle without too much strain on the cardiovascular system while it's already working on healing.

Strength training is cool, I used to do it all the time until I met my misses. now I'm just one big relaxed muscle (fat lol)
I had a bit of road rage tonight and I still didn't reach for the fags so I think my mind set is to quit.

great job man, and now DRINK WATER, lots of it. You will see after 3-4 days you will like it, I was i the same position as you are now. i started to eat the right way, in the morning , midday and evening
and until now i loose 9.7 kg. the water will gives you the feeling that you are not hungry
