Day's like these are what memories are made of.

Today, I had the privilege of looking after 10 kids. My friends say I need an award for being able to keep my cool and keep them alive.

It all started with my wife agreeing to one of my daughter's friends staying the night and it escalated from there before I knew it I had the neighbour's kids around and then my wife's friend turned up with hers, it was hectic.

My daughter hs felt a little down since we moved house and she has been missing her friend, especially one who for the past two years have been inseparable from one another.
With her low mood, all I wanted to do was cheer her up so I decided to phone her friends mum and arrange a sleepover for the two so they could see each other again.

I drove 10 miles from where we live to fetch her friend from school and they fell into each other's arms and danced around like they had not seen each other in years.
It made me feel so good to see my daughter so happy.

My daughter's friend has got a sister who goes to the same school and she was stood with her mum and looked pretty gutted that she couldn't come too, so I invited her to play with my other daughter and this put a smile on her face too.

All three kids jumped into the car and were waving at the mum as we drove back the 10 miles that we had just come from.

By the time I got home my neighbour's kids were already in my yard and playing with my youngest daughter, then my wife's friend turned up and in total including my little lad I had 10 kids running around, bouncing on the trampoline and
riding bikes it was an amazing time and with the sun beaming down on us made us all happy.

My wife and her friend decided that they were going to pop out to the shops and leave them all with me, I don't mind as really I am a big kid too. I joined in the fun, I ended up been the donkey and giving out donkey rides while pushing bike's and handing out ice lollies.

To tell you the truth I am pooped.

Finally, after an hour, my wife turned up with some tea for us all and we sat around together and chowed down on some chicken. day's like these are what memories are made of.

After the neighbour's kids went home and my wife's friend went home with her kids we were left with 2 extra kids to our household.

My daughter's friends sister has never slept out before as she is scared of a lot of things, I don't know too much about it but I think she has had a rough time of it. but, after all the fun she had she asked if she could sleep over as she felt safe with me.

I felt warm inside to think that someone other than my own kids would feel safe with me around, it was really nice to know, I phoned her mum and said if she would sleep it was fine with her.

I put both my youngest daughter and her friend to bed about half an hour ago, I read to them both a story and they both told me they loved me, how sweet is that? I turned off the light and went through to my room to write this blog post while I waited for them to fall asleep.

So far today has been a cracking day, I can't wait for tomorrow.
