What do you do when your car breaks down while delivering?
A few nights ago this happened to me, i had only been at work an hour and my car decided to play up, it was chucking me around like I was on a buckeroo.
White smoke was pouring out of the exhaust and the car came to a stand still, the smell of diesel was overwhelming and I just knew I was in trouble.
The car wouldn't start again, I lifted the bonnet and found diesel all over the inside of the engine bay.
My heart sank.
I phoned my boss who came to me, he took the delivery himself and then came back to me to make sure I was alright.
I don't have breakdown cover so I knew that I had to get this car started some how.
finally after playing with a pump that draws fuel to the engine it started, and 10mph I sat at all the way back to the shop, my boss followed me just incase and made sure that I was able to get back if needed too.
Was this the end of my job?
My boss was asking me what I wanted to do, I told him I needed my job and he agreed that he still wanted me to work there.
He pulled out his wallet and past me a grand and told me to go home and find another car and pay him back little by little each week.
I managed to get my car home, I parked up and told my wife what had gone off, I knew I had to find another car.
I looked online to see what was about but nothing was sticking out to me, when a friend phoned me and told me he was going to the car auctions I jumped at the chance to go with him, where else can you go to get a bargen car?
I was there yesterday looking at cars, and I found a bargain of a lifetime, a ford focus 1.6 petrol with 49000 mile recorded and verified and I bought it for £425, the book value is £1200
I took it home as my friend could drive it back and I have now taxed and insured it so I can go back to work later.
My boss is ace, and I respect him so much for his actions in helping me out in a time of need.
Who else could say their boss would lend them a grand to get a car? I have never known anyone to do it before have you?
49000 miles on the clock. That's a bargain, what a nice guy!

This guy is a really nice guy, the car was a steal at the miles and condition it was in, the only problem I have is the age of the car. but as long as it keeps going for the next 6 months to a year then it will be a sound car for the price that I paid.
We have been talking about going into business together and he says as long as I keep up with the payments on the car, after xmas he and me can look for a shop for me to run.
I really hope everything all goes to plan.
hope your well @meesterboom :D

I don't think any of the big companies would ever do that for an employee, makes me a happy man knowing that I work for someone like that.
